A day in Ithaca with my photographer friend…

Andrea from Woodbine Photography and I went up to Ithaca to scout out some locations for my wedding photos. Our first stop was Cascadilla Gorge, and then we stopped at a little pocket park near Cayuga Street. I learned two things, have the bridesmaids bring flip-flops so we are not parading around in high-heels on rough terrain and the other thing was to bring a blanket so my groom and I can sit in the grass without getting all grass stained and whatnot. Ingenious!

Coincidentally, the Ithaca Fest was going on, so we breezed through the fest and I actually saw some art vendors that participated at the Tulip Fest with me.

Next stop was the Boatyard Grill, Andrea and I scoped out the wedding reception spot and then grabbed dinner.

Last stop was the Cornell Plantations. And I thought I had been everywhere in Ithaca, but I had never see Cornell University’s beautiful gardens. It is now one of my new favorite Ithaca spots. The wedding party is definitely stopping there for photo opts.

Thank you Brieeze Photography for hosting the shootout that allowed the lovely model Rhoma Lavenza to get beautified by hair artist Christie Dier and makeup artist Emily Augustine. It was so nice photographing with fellow local photographers. It was so nice meeting everyone! What a pleasure!

During the shootout, I learned that a Canon 85 mm lens is just magical and that the overlooked AF mode AI SERVO is a true gem when you are photographing motion. Love it!

Thank you Andrea for the great day! I look forward to photographing with you in the future and can’t wait for you to photograph my wedding! YAY!!!
